Bezručovka social housing

The project transforms the former children’s hospital in Jablonec nad Nisou into community housing that bridges architectural heritage with a vision for a sustainable future. Its core strategy is the preservation and adaptation of the existing building, which, together with a new pavilion sensitively embedded in the park landscape, forms a layered residential complex. A new approach to access, shared spaces, and garden connections fosters intergenerational living and community life. Built on environmentally responsible principles — employing timber construction, passive climate strategies, and connection to a central heat source — the project reopens a place with a history of healing to serve a new social function.
