Kindergarten  Želešice

The required volume of the new kindergarten is designed on one floor, allowing direct contact between the interior and exterior for all classes. We are locating the kindergarten on the west side of the site to preserve the existing trees. By dividing the mass into two equal parts, it allows the scale of the surrounding residential development to be accommodated. All classrooms have daylight with an east-west orientation. The stepped portion of the volume creates a barrier on the site between the public access area from 1. máje street and the courtyard, which connects to each classroom and opens up towards the garden. The landscaping offers the possibility of a direct connection between 24. dubna street and 1. máje street. The garden of kindergarten itself is protected by a fence on both sides. The profile of the new kindergarten building follows the tradition of the original development and fits unobtrusively into its context. Inside the classrooms, it creates pleasant spaces for children to learn creatively. The gable roof of the design has the same volume as the flat roof solution, but creates much higher quality internal spaces. The classroom layout is modular and it is easy to implement fewer or more individual classrooms.
