Nové Dvory Prague
Located beside the future Nové Dvory metro station, the proposal transforms a large urban block into an open and diverse piece of the city. Instead of turning inward, the block opens onto all four surrounding streets, allowing pedestrians to move naturally between the public realm and its more private courtyard. A lively ground floor accommodates shops, cafés and local services, creating an active interface between residents and everyday urban life. At the centre, a semi-public garden forms a calm green oasis for meeting, play and relaxation. The landscape gradually shifts from communal terraces near the entrances to a densely planted, almost woodland-like interior that offers shade and supports biodiversity. Corner towers and stepped volumes establish clear landmarks, respond to the surrounding scale and shape a varied roofscape with shared and private terraces. A family of distinct housing typologies gives each building its own identity while maintaining a coherent architectural character across the block.
