Strojař Přerov

The Strojař site is surrounded by various sports facilities, which are scattered throughout the urban landscape in a somewhat disorganized manner. The revitalization of this area presents a great opportunity to create a cohesive connection between the water-based recreational activities along the Bečva River and the existing swimming pool complex and sports fields. Simultaneously a sports route shapes both private and public interventions.
A new figure is comparable in proportion and orientation to the pre-existing hotel, the new Strojař stands in a similar manner on the site, and becomes the gateway to the district. The structural system of the building is based on the modularity of the original hotel. The resulting grid represents a solution with maximum flexibility and opens up space for various variants of apartment layouts.
The variable layout of the apartments allows the creation of space for different living situations: Compact Living for Individuals, Spacious Living for Couples and Small Families, Generous Living for Families, Close Living for Multigenerational Families, Community Living (Shared Housing) and Shared Housing for Young Professionals.

By creating open urban blocks, the river becomes accessible to everybody. Different altitudes on the project offer private and shared spaces oriented to the river and large views of the city landscape.
The structure of the living units hosts human beings in motion. Shared spaces for diverse people are designed to align with the evolving needs over time,  ensuring a concerted, virtuous, and reasoned structure for happy communities, better interactions, and a sustainable future.
